I write books, I help people write books and I believe a regular practice of writing can change your life. I am the author of 12+ books, sought after public speaker and coach to hundred of authors from New York Times Bestsellers to total beginners. I can help you, too.

I’m originally from Portland, Oregon, but now I live in beautiful Nashville, Tennessee. People often ask how I ended up here and I tell them, “by accident”. I came kicking and screaming and eventually fell in love with it.

Such is life, right?

I’ve been writing and blogging about life and faith and relationships for about as long as I can remember, and my first memoir, Packing Light published back in 2013. Since then, I’ve written 11 other books—10 of them for other people—and just released my second memoir called, Indestructible.

I’ve also coached hundreds of writers to them tell their stories because I’m a huge believer that writing can be one of the most profound ways to gain confidence, get unstuck and find your voice.

My life took an unexpected left turn a few years ago—and within a matter of months I had let go of my marriage, my business, my dog, my home, and everything I assumed to bet true about my life. That experience was by far the most challenging I’ve faced in my 35 years on this planet, but it’s also gifted me the life and strength and wisdom I have now, which I wouldn’t trade for anything, so I’m grateful.

A FEW FUN FACTS ONLY MY CLOSE FRIENDS KNOW ABOUT ME…READY FOR THIS?

  • I used to be a ballerina—and also a cheerleader in college. I know. Strange combination.
  • I have an unexpected deep, deep love for pop-country music
  • I’m a voracious reader, but forget a lot of what I read, so I love to read books more than once
  • I have seen ALL the seasons of Friends at least a dozen times… (go ahead, quiz me)
  • I write a bit of poetry, and share it every now and then on Instagram….
  • I don’t have any pets, but I have kept a plant alive for over a year now, so I think I’m ready…?
  • I’ll do just about anything for a gluten free sweet potato biscuit from my favorite coffee shop in Nashville…
  • Which, by the way, you can find me there most mornings, writing…
