Hey there—and welcome!
My name is Allison and I think YOU are truly remarkable.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been fascinated by how totally amazing, resilient, brave, strong and completely remarkable people are. My mom tells stories of me, at four years old, walking up to total strangers in the grocery store, asking them to tell me their name and something about themselves.
I love people. We’re all insecure and worried and carrying burdens and fighting battles and totally unaware of just how miraculous we really are.
Which is why I’m glad you’re here. Hopefully I can help you see yourself the way I see you.
I write about things like:
- Women & Femininity
- Mental, Physical & Spiritual Health
My goal is to challenge you, to make you think, to help you re-route old and unhelpful ideas about yourself and the world, and hopefully to help you see that, no matter what you’re facing in your life right now, you are stronger than you think you are, you are on a journey and in a process of becoming the most incredible version of yourself.
You are a tiny miracle in this great big world.
You’re doing a good job.
You are truly remarkable.
As for me, I’m on my own journey, just like you, fighting battles and carrying burdens and managing disappointment and holding on to hope like a life raft. I just happen to be writing about it here, as a reminder to myself, and hopefully to you, that none of us have to do it alone.
We don’t have to have it all figured out. We’re all going to be okay.
Actually, probably better than okay. This life is truly remarkable.

The beautiful thing about this space is that it is not just my space. It is ours. I get the privilege of curating and leading the conversation, but honestly, you are the reason I wake up and do what I do everyday.
So when you’re ready, here are some ways to get involved:

Want to meet me in person?
I do often travel and speak—about writing, spirituality, creativity, passion, and finding your voice. If you would like to hear me speak, take a peek at my schedule and come join me for the next event in your city.
Or, if you don’t see an event in your city—fill out a request form and invite me to come!
I’d love to meet you.
Are you a writer?
I am a writer, by passion, vocation and necessity. By that I mean I’m trained as a writer and it’s what I do for work, but I also write because I can’t not write. Writing has always been the thing I do when I am supposed to be doing something else—paying bills, doing schoolwork, etc.
I got a bachelors degree in English and a Masters Degree in Teaching Writing; and I have been teaching writing for the past 10+ years in one capacity or another.
- I’ve written 10+ books
- I’ve developed multiple online course curriculums for writers—including this one
- I’ve coached hundreds of writers to complete their creative projects
- I would love to help you!
Are you a writer?
Do you wish you could call yourself a writer but aren’t sure you’re worthy of that title?
If you find yourself, like me, writing because you can’t not write, check out all the special options I have for writers over here.
I am from Portland, Oregon but now I live in beautiful Nashville, Tennessee.
I love to travel, do yoga, read books, go for hikes and just generally be outside. I could eat tacos and ice cream by the truckload. My drinks of choice are red wine and whiskey and I’m dreaming of someday having a huge front porch where I can lounge around in my yoga pants sipping coffee and reading every morning.
Although the last year of my life has been one of the most unexpected and, in some ways, devastating, everyday I’m shocked at how thankful and blessed I am that I get to live and breathe and shape this little life of mine.
I’m going to make the most of it.
Okay, now it’s your turn! Tell me about yourself.
If you have been looking to grow your skills as a writer, to get more practice, or are working on a specific project and need some feedback, I do have a coaching program for writers.
